ABOUT GLAMPERVAN:

Glampervan has been manufacturing high-quality van conversions in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2015--for customers all across the country.  With the onset of this year’s travel challenges the demand for Glampervans is rising rapidly and we need to expand to meet the demand. We are a small but growing company that lives and breathes vanlife, and tries to keep a healthy balance between building vans and enjoying the van experience. 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Glampervan Production Lead position is a mid-level role that is both an individual contributor and a leader for production line workers on the manufacturing floor. The Production Lead will assemble and install various component parts for van upfit conversions. Production Leads will oversee worker rotations through different tasks as well as perform the same or similar task functions through the assembly and installation process. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads line workers in small teams, communicates and assigns work in order of priority to set goals for the day. 

  • Strong individual contributor to production of vans

  • Understanding, communicating, tracking, daily and weekly production line goals. 

  • Ensures production line workers are following specifications to determine required assembly and installation of various van upfit components. 

  • Tracks adequate supplies of assembly, sub-assembly, and installation parts for a particular task and requests supplies through purchasing or appropriate channels. 

  • Examines assembly and connects for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies following work instructions/ specifications. 

  • Resolves major and minor assembly and installation problems.

  • Operates and uses all equipment following standard work instructions and operating procedures

  • Uses hand power tools to perform job duties. 

  • Practices safety and good housekeeping by keeping work stations, kits,  neighboring areas and aisles clean and accessible. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be reliable, have good initiative, be committed, and be quality focused.

  • Excellence in working well with others, communicates effectively in small groups and 1-on-1 situations within the organization. 

  • Must have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

  • Ability to perform repetitive duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.

  • Able to manage time, prioritize tasks and assign tasks to direct reports. 

  • Manual dexterity and the ability to carry out complex, repetitive tasks efficiently and methodically. 

  • Ability to operate the necessary equipment in compliance with quality control standards. 

  • Must be able to read drawings and schematics. 

  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations. 

  • Ability to read, understand and instruct others to use manufacturing assembly and install instructions. 

  • Must have strong computer skills  and understanding of the following: Use of spreadsheets, Google Suite, email, web research, word processing). 

  • Possess a positive attitude with a work ethic of the highest degree. 

  • Must maintain personal safety rules regarding work. 

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.

  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Must have a strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.

 

EDUCATION

  • High School or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 2-4 Years year assembly or fabrication preferred in related field

  • Min. 1+ year demonstrated success leading teams

 

TYPE:

  • Contractor full-time

  • Starts at $28-34/hr

  • Day shift.  May open up weekends and night shifts in near future

  • West Oakland, California (new location as of Oct 1)
