ABOUT GLAMPERVAN:

Glampervan has been manufacturing high-quality van conversions in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2015 for customers all across the country.  With the onset of this year’s travel challenges the demand for Glampervans is rising rapidly and we need to expand to meet the demand. We are a small but growing company that lives and breathes van-life, and tries to keep a healthy balance between building vans and enjoying the van experience. 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Junior Purchasing Specialists will directly contribute to Glampervan’s Purchasing Department mission to procure, track and manage the top quality components on time and within or exceeding van conversion budget goals. Contractor will actively participate in placing purchase orders, supplies and materials management, and support purchasing functions to effectively support the Purchasing Department objectives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Purchasing Order Management & Administrative Support

  • Inventory management and data tracking

  • Oversight of shipping and receiving, returns, mailroom activities

  • Assistant with special projects to develop and enhance the Purchasing Department functions and operations.

  • Purchasing Order Management & Administrative Support

  • Master basic procurement skills including requests for proposals, purchase order entry and follow up.

  • Assist in bid leveling

  • Track and maintain list of qualified equipment vendors and subcontractors

  • Assists with master pricing data maintenance and tracks vendor commodity pricing.

  • Properly files forms and other documents as required.

  • Data entry and creating reports

  • Support the Purchasing Department's administrative functions, allowing the department to remain organized and functioning in an efficient manner.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivottables, V/H Lookups, If Stmts, Adv Formulas, ect.)

  • Mechanical industry experience is a plus (construction, manufacturing, etc.)

  • Outstanding organization and detailed orientated skills

  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking to enable novel solutions.

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Must be a self-starter, highly organized

  • Must have excellent analytical and computer skills

  • Must be reliable, have good initiative, be committed, and be quality focused.

  • Ability to learn nuance of various materials, parts need for camper van manufacturing

  • Computer skills preferred (use of spreadsheets, Google Suite, email, web research, word processing) 

  • Great attention to detail. 

  • Possess a positive attitude with a work ethic of the highest degree. 

  • Must maintain personal safety rules regarding work. 

  • Must have a strong command of the English language, both written and verbal., 

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.

  • Must be 18 years or older.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum Associate Degree or higher (desired)

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years of Transactional Purchasing experience (desired)

  • 1-2 years experience in purchasing for mechanical trades (preferred) (Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Construction etc.)

 

TYPE:

  • Contractor now.  This role may convert to employee in future.

  • Starts at $25-$30hr
